Der Fall fokussiert auf Maigret, der trotz seiner Schwermütigkeit durchs triste Paris streift um dort den Fall an einer ebenfalls an einer jungen Frau aufzuklären. die ebenfalls an Melancholie litt. Das ist nicht das Paris, das uns versprochen wurde, steht dabei auch im Zentrum des Filmes.
