Description

In a small French town, Germain, a nearly illiterate man in his 50s who is considered the village idiot, takes a walk to the park and happens to sit beside Margueritte, a little old lady who is reading excerpts from her novel aloud. She s articulate, highly intelligent and frail. Germain is lured by Margueritte’s passion for life and the magic of literature from which he has always felt excluded. As Margueritte broadens his mind via reading excerpts from her novel, Germain realizes that he is more of an intellectual than he has ever allowed himself to be. Afternoons spent reading aloud on their favorite bench transform their lives and start them both on a new journey to literacy and respect for Germain, and to the deepest friendship for Margueritte.

Ein wunderschöner Film mit Tiefgang, Herz und Sinn. Europäische Filme haben vielliecht nicht so heftige Special Effects wie US Filme, dafür sind sie umso humaner. Depardieu ist kult :)

Allerding empfand ich den Film nicht ganz so herzlich wie erwartet. Im grossen und ganzen ein wenig fad, man hätte mehr aus der Idee machen können.

Ich verstehe unten stehende Rezension von "we need uglier actors" nicht. Haben Sie den Film überhaupt gesehen? Thema dieser Filmperle ist jedenfalls nicht Depardieus Nase. Wen dies interessiert, kann sich "Cyrano de Bergerac" ansehen. Auch würde ich bezweifeln, dass es dem Darsteller an Selbstironie mangelt, wenn man an seine letzten Rollen denkt. La tete en friche ist hoch stehendes Schauspielerkino, reich an humorvollen Dialogen und einer bewegenden Geschichte, gleichzeitig ist der Film mit einer wunderbaren Leichtigkeit erzählt. Sehr empfehlenswert.
