Description

After 12 years of estrangement a writer returns to his hometown, planning on announcing his impending death to his family. However, his mother, tempestuous siblings and beleaguered sister-in-law have their own personal grievances to air. As buried resentments threaten to surface and fits and feuds begin to unfold, all attempts at empathy are sabotaged by the family s inability to listen and love.

Unverständlich dass dieser Film von rottentomatos so träge Noten erhalten hat. Auch wenn sich der Betrachter "nur" auf die Beziehungs-Strukturen der Partizipierenden dieser Familie fokussieren kann, ich fand das in diesem verrückten aber trotzdem realistischen Fall überhaupt nicht langweilig. Die Besetzung ist jedenfalls Spitze. Sehenswert.
