Drew Barrymore makes her directorial debut with WHIP IT!, the story of an ex-beauty pageant contestant named Bliss (played by JUNO`s Ellen Page) who leaves her crowns behind after joining a roller-derby team. Les musiques sont bien !
Voilà !

Non, sérieusement, si c’est le premier film de Drew Barrymore, c’est loin d’être un chef-d’œuvre. C’est plus un délire entre filles, entre actrices qu’autre chose.
Et honnêtement, j’ai pas pigé les règles du jeu jusqu’au bout. Mais peut-être que je m’en fichais dans le fond. Les sports et les films de sports sont plus intéressant pour les mecs qui n’aiment pas le sport quand c’est de belles filles qui jouent. Et là, c’est pas ce qui manque.
Le casting Ellen Page (qui s’en sort vraiment bien dans ce rôle), Drew Barrymore (on la voit pas tant que ça, mais on la reconnait bien en turbulente rockeuse) et Juliette Lewis (elle sait faire du roller comme une pro en plus d’être une sacré chanteuse ?!) est ce qu’il y a de plus attirant dans ce film.
Malheureusement, il fait partie des vite vu et vite oublié.
C’est fou : déjà dans le film Boogie Nights quand j’ai vu qu’il y avait une fille qui s’appelait Roller Girl et qui n’enlevait jamais ses roller, je me disais déjà que des pieds devait sacrément puer.
Là, c’est une dizaine de filles qu’on voit tout le temps collé à leurs rollers. Bonjour les odeurs !

Manche haben zuviel Testosteron und andere zuviel Östrogen. In dieser Geschichte dreht sich's um's coming-of-age von Mädels. Wer bin ich, was will ich in einem Leben werden, sort of movie. Fazit: Was dem einen das (American) Football ist (dem) der anderen das Rollerderby. Eine nette Teenieproduktion, die durch die gereifte Darstellung von E.Page an Niveau gewinnt. Sonst nicht wirklich ein Weitwurf in Sachen Inhalt.
