Description

When his father dies, Luo Yusheng returns from the city to his childhood village where his father was the much-revered local teacher. But what begins as a short trip to bury his father becomes much more when he learns his mother wants a traditional burial for her beloved husband. She wants to have him carried by foot, honoring the belief that a body returned this way will never forget the road home. As Yusheng enlists the men needed to fulfill her wishes, the story of his parents' love affair unfolds. From the award-winning director Zhang Yimou (Raise the Red Lantern) comes a romantic drama whose story is as beautiful as the cinematography. Ich hatte ja onehin schon hohe erwartungen an diesen film, aber das ich ein derartiges meisterwerk zu gesicht bekommen würde, damit hatte ich nun wirklich nicht gerechnet.
dieser film schafft es eine atmosphäre und momente zu erzeugen wie es keine 200millionen dollar hollywood produktion zustande bringt ( was zu einem grossen teil natürlich der fabelhaften zhang ziyi zu verdanken ist...) einer meiner lieblingsfilme

Schöne Geschichte, intensive Farben und eine überzeugende Zhang Ziyi. Diese Gold-Rot Kombination hat mich sehr an die Kampfszene mit Maggie Cheung und Zhang Ziyi aus "Hero" erinnert.

wunderschöner film, mit viel gefühl, grandiosen aufnahmen. wehr nicht auf hollywood schnulzen steht, sollte diesen film nicht verpassen.
