Combining the tense, psychological investigation of killer classics such as Silence of the Lambs and Zodiac with fast-paced twists, turns and edge-of-your-seat action, Night Hunter is one of this year s darkest and most daring thrillers. On the hunt for an elusive serial rapist and murderer, battle-hardened cop Marshall (Henry Cavill: Man of Steel, Mission Impossible: Fallout) crosses paths with vigilante duo Cooper (Ben Kingsley: Gandhi, Sexy Beast) and Julia (Eliana Jones) as they trap online predators and deliver their own extreme methods of justice. When Julia is kidnapped, Marshall, Cooper and the police hunt down the perpetrator but the psychologically damaged man they capture only deepens the mystery surrounding the killings. Good-cop Rachel (Alexandra Daddario: True Detective) believes the captured killer, who is linked to years of female abductions and murders, is harbouring multiple personalities, one of which may hold answers. But with Marshall taking a harder stance, pressure from the Commissioner (Stanley Tucci: The Hunger Games franchise), and a public out for blood, the plot thickens.

Night Hunter (2018)

Très bon film… mais hélas… je ne suis pas convaincu de la fin.
Ça commence à traîner en longueur et à perdre en subtilité.
Très dommage !
Casting plutôt excellent :
Henry Cavill, le nouveau Superman au cinéma, est ici dans le rôle d’un policier plutôt balaise, peu loquace et qui tente de rester un bon père.
Ben Kingsley, enfin dans un rôle que j’ai apprécié. Il joue un ex-juge devenu justicier. Traqué par la police à cause de ses méthode et poursuivants tous les délinquant sexuels.
Alexandra Daddario, parfaite, ici, dans son rôle de profiler tentant de comprendre un schizophrène le mieux possible.
Stanley Tucci : acteur que je ne connais, pas qui joue un commissaire très rustre… qui n’hésite pas trop à demander à ses hommes de tuer des criminels plutôt que de les arrêter.
Nathan Fillion, l’acteur principal de l’excellente série Castle, ici, dans un petit rôle trop court, mais sans doute nécessaire au film.
Et, enfin, Brendan Fletcher, habitué au rôle de grand méchant, surtout depuis la trilogie de Rampage, qui l’a rendu célèbre dans un rôle d’un des personnages qui a tué le plus d’innocents.
Un bon thriller policier.
Film pas trop décevant, malgré une fin que j’aurais préféré un peu plus intéressante.
