Description

Director Cédric Klapisch`s long-running trilogy draws to a close in this drama that finds Parisian novelist and 40-year-old father of two Xavier moving to New York City in order to be closer to his two beloved children. Xavier is in the midst of finishing his new novel centering on the struggles of immigration when his wife Wendy announces that she is taking their children to live in Manhattan. His sense of adventure still well intact, Xavier decides to follow suit. Meanwhile, as Xavier adjusts to live in the bustling new metropolis, his dear friends Isabelle and Martine are never far away.

Diese Trilogie, welche mit "l'auberge espagnole" vor 12 Jahren begann, findet hier zunächst sein Ende. Schön anzusehen wie sich das Leben der 4 Hauptprotagonisten innerhalb dieser Zeit so verändert hat. Gleich geblieben sind einzig 2 Dinge: Das Leben von Xavier ist immer noch chaotisch & die Erfahrungen mit den Ansichten & Erfahrungen in anderen Ländern sind immer anders, selten besser. Und im letzten Drittel der Geschichte geht's noch einmal ordentlich turbulent zur Sache. So wie im 1.Teil oder auch manch einer anderen, bekannten Geschichte. Fazit: Wem die vorangegangenen Teile gefallen haben, wird hier nichts falsch machen. Darstellung, settings, score, etc. sind wie immer stimmig. Und die Story ist durchaus unterhaltsam und bestätigt etliche Erfahrungen, die hier ein deja-vu erleben.

Pour ceux qui ont aimé l`Auberge Espagnole et les Poupées Russes vont sûrement aimer ce film... moi je n'ai croché sur aucun des trois, même en les prenant séparément...
