After escaping an abusive husband, Anna and her son move far away to a secret location. Terrified that her ex-husband will find them, she buys a baby monitor to keep in her son's room. When strange noises echo through the monitor, Anna believes another child in the building is being murdered, and then she fears the worst - that it's her own son.

Nachdem Anna ihre schwierige Beziehung beendet hat, beginnt sie mit ihrem kleinen Sohn Anders ein neues Leben. Beide ziehen in einen anonymen Wohnblock, doch die Angst zieht mit ihnen und Annas Beschützerinstinkt steigert sich ins Manische. Sie kauft sich ein Babyphon, doch andere Geräte überlagern die Frequenz. Durch das Babyphon hört sie stimmen, die auf einen Mord hindeuten.
