A critical and commercial success despite controversy over what the MPAA termed its “homosexual frame of reference,” Midnight Cowboy became the first X-rated film to receive the best picture Oscar, and decades on, its influence still reverberates through cinema.

Genialer Streifen mit lustigen, dramatischen, duchgedrehten und auch berührenden Szenen. Hoffmann und Voigt in Hochform, das New York Ende der 60er und eine gute Story, machen diesen Film zu einer Perle. Den Oscar als bester Film 1969, hat dieses Meisterwerk ganz sicher verdient!

Dustin Hoffman spielt unglaublich gut, Voight`s Darstellung verblasst ein wenig neben ihm. Irgendwie hatte ich etwas total anderes erwartet, wurde aber nicht wirklich enttäuscht. Bitteres Ende, muss aber so sein. Die zwei Hauptdarsteller machen aus einem mittelmässigen einen guten Film

Die Filmmusik, Handlung, Darsteller gehen ineinander über und auf. Ein sehr guter Film. Ausserdem mag ich das Endsechzigerfeeling jenseits aller Hippiekultur.
