The album was partially inspired by the 2018 death of Björk's mother, Hildur Rúna Hauksdóttir, particularly the songs "Sorrowful Soil" and "Ancestress". The album features contributions from American singer Serpentwithfeet, Björk's two children Sindri and Ísadóra, Indonesian dance duo Gabber Modus Operandi, and a bass clarinet sextet.

Alle im September erschiennen LPs sind von einem unvollständiges Master geschnitten! Allem voran 'Ancestres', 'Ovule', 'Her Mithers House' und 'Fossora' waren noch nicht fertiggestellt, die endgültige Version erscheinen erst auf den CDs! :-((

Ein weiteres Meisterwerk von Björk (musikalisch & textlich). Besonders empfehlenswert Freefall, Sorrowful Soil & Her Mother‘s House, sowie die Singles: Atopos, Ovule, Ancestress & Fossora. I love it!
