Na welche "balls" sind da wohl gemeint, hmmm ...?
bluegrass meets country
"balls" ist das dritte album der jungen singer/songwriterin aus florida. welche bälle die gute frau genau meint, bleibe mal dahin gestellt. und wenn sie im opener "times are tough in rock'n'roll singt", ist das natürlich auch etwas irre führend, weil cook ja keine rockmusik macht, sondern höchstens da und dort etwas countryrock einbaut. ansonsten baut sie auf einem soliden mix aus bluegrass und country auf, der von produzent rodney crowell transparent in szene gesetzt wurde. mit ihrem stil reiht sich cook nahtlos ins lager der ganz grossen wie parton, carter, harris oder griffith ein. letztere ist wie bobby bare jr. als gast auf der scheibe zu hören. elizabeth cook ist weit mehr als ein versprechen. americana vom feinsten.
