Per mano del giovane regista John Glen, che lo dirige per la prima volta, Bond recupera tutte le caratteristiche di protagonismo umano, di coraggio, di humor e charme britannico, di cui lo aveva dotato all`origine il suo geniale creatore Ian Fleming. Storia di puro spionaggio che ruota attorno ad un sofisticato trasmettitore T.A.C. affondato con la nave St. Georges, che i britannici hanno perduto e che i Russi vogliono recuperare, il tutto per interposte persone ossia spie, killer, assassini. Nella contesa, chi alla fine ci riuscirà?

Moore makes his fifth appearance as 007 in this, the twelfth Bond film. In this outing, the renowned British double agent must locate a weapons system known as ATAC, which controls Great Britain`s submarines, after it is sunk on a ship in the Ionian Sea. While he must contend with a formidable foe in the villain known as Kristatos, he does have the lovely and talented Melina, the daughter of a scientist killed by Kristatos, on his side.

... for ever and ever! Zur Abwechslung mal mit der Musik von Bill Conti statt John Barry, und die finde ich super! Und Carole Bouquet ist eine Klasse für sich. Schade, dass der Lotus schon so früh dran glauben muss ... Trotzdem: Für mich der beste Bond mit tollen Schauplätzen und Schauspielern!
