Shuisheng, 14 anni, giunge a Shangai dietro invito dello zio Liu Shu, uomo di fiducia di Tang, il Padrino della Triade. Shuisheng viene messo a servizio di Bijou, la bellissima amante del Padrino e grazie a lui la più famosa cantante di cabaret di Shangai. schwächer als die anderen Yimou Filme die ich gesehen habe. Die Story ist unterhaltsam, aber nicht gerade neu. Hingegen ist das Spiel mit den Lichtern briliant. Und mit der schönen Gong li ist auch eine passende Besetztung gefunden.
