in un mondo dove non vige alcuna regola, la coppia di sbandati harley davidson (mickey rourke) e marlboro man (don johnson) aiuta un vecchio amico a salvare il suo bar svaligiando proprio la banca che cerca di assumerne il controllo.
tuttavia, non si tratta di una banca normale e il furgone blindato che i due attaccano non è pieno di denaro, bensì di droga! da questo momento harley e marlboro diventano oggetto di una spietata caccia all'uomo condotta dagli inarrestabili scagnozzi senza scrupoli del corrotto direttore di banca.
