Immaginate l`infanzia di John Lennon... Liverpool 1955: un quindicenne ribelle e intelligente, assetato di vita. Una famiglia in cui abbondano i segreti, con due donne in conflitto rispetto al futuro di questo ragazzo, John Lennon. Mimi, la zia severa che lo ha cresciuto, e Julia, la mamma piena di brio. Spinto dal suo desiderio di una famiglia normale, John si rifugia nel nuovo ed eccitante mondo del rock, dove il suo genio immaturo incontra la sua anima gemella nell`adolescente Paul McCartney. Ma proprio mentre John sta per iniziare una nuova vita, sua madre muore tragicamente. Il giovane Lennon troverà la forza per andare avanti e la sua voce esploderà nel mondo, dando vita al mito.

Die Mutter-Sohn-Beziehung konnte ich beim besten Willen nicht nachvollziehen! Der Film ist zu langatmig, zuwenig Musik, zu viel Tränen um nichts!

Es sollte mehr solche Filme geben.
