    Dieses legendäre Konzert von 1970 wird zum erstenmal veröffentlicht zusammen mit einer DVD mit der Aufzeichnung des Konzertes plus einer Dokumentation von Murray Lerner. Der bezgnadete Singer/Songwriter interpretiert hie seine Songs aus den ersten beiden Alben. Hervorragend.

    1970 trat leonard cohen bei der dritten, denkwürdigen ausgabe des isle of wight festivals auf, vor sage und schreibe 600000 menschen! es waren denkwürdige tage. vom hippiefeeling war am schluss nicht mehr viel übrig, es gab ausschreitungen, zäune wurden umgeknickt und die bühne fing feuer. und mittendrin der auftritt von leonard cohen, dem kanadischen poeten. wie in trance sang sich cohen durch ein set seiner bekanntesten songs, umrahmt von einer tollen band mit noch tolleren stimmen. sehr improvisiert, aber absolut beseelt klang das. zur audio-cd gibts eine dokumentation mit live-aufnahmen und nachträglich geführten interviews mit produzent bob johnston, joan baez, kris kristofferson (johnston spielte in cohens band, die anderen zwei traten auch beim festival auf) sowie judy collins. bewegend und ein fantastisches zeit-dokument!
