A provocative period drama chronicling the wild and turbulent life of John Wilmot (Johnny Depp), the 2nd Earl of Rochester - poet, libertine, and infamous rake of the Restoration era. Known for his scandalous appetites and sharp wit, Wilmot lives in relentless pursuit of pleasure, indifferent to consequence. Though married, he embarks on a fiery affair with aspiring actress Elizabeth Barry (Samantha Morton), championing her rise to stardom. His rebellious nature reaches new heights when he pens a scandalous play mocking his patron, King Charles II (John Malkovich), threatening his place at court. A gripping tale of genius, excess, and self-destruction. EXTRAS: Capturing the Libertine (Making of Documentary), Deleted Scenes, Director's Commentary
