Manuel Rodriguez, meglio conosciuto come "Manolete", è un famosissimo torero. È un uomo timido, austero, di poche parole e dall`aspetto desolatamente triste; durante la stagione delle corride Manolete viaggia costantemente, passando di arena in arena. Lupe Sino, invece, è una donna bellissima, schietta, orgogliosa, sensibile e con un passato turbolento alle spalle. Prima che si innamorasse di lei, il torero aveva un solo obbiettivo: diventare famoso. Grazie a Lupe, Manolete sembra aver trovato un nuovo scopo nella vita. Ma un`ombra incombe sui due amanti. Manolete è innamorato della morte mentre Lupe è innamorata della vita.
