In one of the roles that made him a major star, Steve McQueen is out to stop organized crime as special investigator Martin Cabell. The man he's after - onetime boyhood pal Frank Kane (John Drew Barrymore). Starting out as a "numbers runner," Kane loses his girlfriend, Julie (Lita Milan) to mob boss Silk Fennelli (Robert Bray). Climbing up the underworld ladder, Kane reaches the top, where he succeeds in winning Julie back and making a bitter enemy of Fennelli. With Fennelli gunning for him and Cabell looking to put him away, Kane's days seem to be numbered in this sultry film of lust, violence and a friendship torn apart.

    Zusammen mit "The great St. Louis Bank Robbery" der schlechteste McQueen-Film. Habe den Film vor etlichen Jahren in Form einer englischen Kassette erworben und bin ziemlich überrascht das der auf DVD erscheint. Dadurch kommt aber auch Hoffnung auf für weitere Veröffentlichungen seiner Filme. Habe alle seine Filme, aber leider z.T. in sehr schlechter Videoqualität und warte sehnlichst auf weitere DVD's.
