John used to be a rock star living the high life but after an accident he is left tetraplegic and utterly incapable of caring for himself. This devastating change contributes to John's anger and frustration, all of which his new carer Evie has to deal with as she tries to look after him.

Evie herself arrived in England having left behind a troubled past in France, and the haunting memories she cannot escape from combined with the intolerable behaviour of John leads both of them on a downward spiral.
