Directed by Rick Korn, who previously helmed the award-winning feature Harry Chapin: When in Doubt, Do Something, the film explores the lasting impact of Cat’s in the Cradle on music, culture, and personal lives. Featuring interviews with legendary musicians like Billy Joel, Pat Benatar, Judy Collins, Dee Snider, Darryl McDaniels (Run DMC), Mandy Patinkin, Robert Lamm (Chicago) and Whitfield Crane (Ugly Kid Joe) and more, the documentary reflects on the song's universal themes of parenthood, time, and relationships that have resonated with audiences for five decades.
Produced by Rick Korn and S.A. Baron of In Plain View Entertainment, the film carries Chapin’s humanitarian spirit forward by supporting WhyHunger, Long Island Cares, and The Harry Chapin Foundation.
