A concert like none other...
Sometimes a catastrophy could turn into a blessing in disguise... This concert was supposed to be a very emotional moment for Ray Charles. It was his 70th birthday, it was his first tour in this new millenium. And above all, 40 years ago the beloved Ray Charles was playing in this mythical stage of the Olympia his first concert in Europe. This night, Ray Charles was supposed to play with his 'Big Band' and his 'Raelettes' (his choirs), but due to an air traffic controllers lightning strike in Lisbon, his famous Big Band and The Raelettes were stuck at the airport. Normally, you will say 'checkmate'. But how fate could fight with a man which as defied the blindness and all the prejudices. That's why the concert had to be recorded and filmed. It results a fantastic DVD of this unic 'unplugged' concert recorded in 5.1, with a rare emotion and sensibility.
Ray Charles was in a really good mood, controlling his music than ever, feeling happy and stressless, really pleased to play in this beautiful place. You will hear it, you will see it and you will feel it!
