The spring term episodes of the eighth season of the BBC drama set in a failing inner city comprehensive. Waterloo Road`s Head Teacher Michael Byrne (Alec Newman) continues to preside over the school and the variety of problems it faces. In this series a number of new teachers including Audrey McFall (Georgie Glen) and the alcoholic Christine Mulgrew (Laurie Brett) join the cast and bring their virtues and vices to the education of Waterloo`s pupils. Meanwhile, after being accused of assisting the death of his ill father, Michael may face a trial.
