Frozen Ground is inspired by the incredible true story that follows Alaskan State Trooper Jack Halcombe as he sets out to end the murderous rampage of Robert Hansen, a serial killer who has gone unnoticed for 13 years. As the bodies of street girls start to pile up in Anchorage, fear strikes a chord with the public. Risking his life, Halcombe goes on a personal manhunt to find the killer before the next body surfaces. When a seventeen year old escapee reveals key information about the case, Halcombe is finally on the trail of the killer. But will he catch him in time to save the next victim?

Fand den Film spannend und in der Kulisse Alaska gut eingebettet. Cage mag ich, Cusak ebenfalls, haben ihre Rollen sehr gut verkörpert.

Da kann ich dem Vorredner nur beipflichten. Cage ist einfach nicht wandelbar, hat immer das gleiche Gesicht, die gleiche Mimik, egal welche Filme er macht. Der Streifen selber lebt von der Wahrheit, schockierend, dass dies wirklich so passiert ist. Ansonsten vermag mich der Film auch nicht zu überzeugen. Die verwackelten Bilder sind mitunter etwas anstrengend und 50 Cent in einem seriösen Thriller na ja nicht meine Welt. Dennoch ist die Geschichte weil so passiert sehenswert.

Nicholas Cage auf den Spuren von 8mm.
Im vergleich zu Cusak und Hudgens, finde ich die Darstellerische Leistung von Cage wieder sehr schwach. Der Film selbst hat auch keine wirkliche überraschungen parat. dafür finde ich aber Alaska als Kulisse klasse und vermittelt dem ganzen etwas trostlosigkeit.

Peut mieux faire, pas mauvais, mais pas super non plus... Nicolas Cage y est plus discret et posé, ce n'est pas un mal...
