The dazzling sophomore film from Wes Anderson is equal parts coming-of-age story, French New Wave homage and screwball comedy. Tenth grader Max Fischer (Jason Schwartzman) is Rushmore Academy's most extracurricular student-and its least scholarly. He faces expulsion and enters into unlikely friendships with both a lovely first-grade teacher (Olivia Williams) and a melancholy self-made millionaire (Bill Murray, in an award-winning performance). Set to a soundtrack of classic British Invasion tunes, Rushmore defies categorization; it captures the pain and exuberance of adolescence with wit, emotional depth and cinematic panache.

'rushmore' is the story of a gifted, rebellious teenager named max fischer (jason schwartzman), a 10th grader at elite rushmore academy. editor of the school newspaper, captain or president of innumerable clubs and societies, max is also one of the worst students in the school, and the threat of expulsion hangs permanently over his head.
max' world is rocked when he falls for elegant 1 st grade teacher miss cross (olivia williams), and he plans to erect an aquarium in her honor - then finds himself competing for her affections with his friend, steel tycoon mr. blume (bill murray), the wealthy father of two of his classmates.

    im gegensatz zum neusten anderson-streifen "the life aquatic" ist das hier ein äusserst gelungener und vorallem geniessbarer film. witzig, tragisch, komisch. bill murray, danke fürs wegrennen. selten so gelacht...

    Grossartiger Film! Unbedingt ankucken. Genailer Bill Murray, starke Olivia Williams und ein absolut hervorragender Jason Schwartzman.

    Möchte meinem Vorgänger zu seiner Bemerkung über die Ehrlichkeit der Figuren gratulieren. Wer Rushmore und RT gesehen hat, dem fällt auf, dass Anderson einen einzigartigen Stil besitzt. Andersons Filme werden Schule machen.

    melacholische komödie, die erlichkeit dieses film hebt ihn über die anderen hinaus. die figuren in sind nicht nur schablonen sondern lebende wesen. kleines film-juwel für cinesiasten.
