Pom Poko features the clash between modern civilization and the natural world from acclaimed director Isao Takahata. The raccoons of the Tama Hills are being forced from their homes by the rapid development of houses and shopping malls. As it becomes harder to find food and shelter, they decide to band together and fight back. The raccoons practice and perfect the ancient art of transformation until they are even able to appear as humans. In often hilarious ways, the raccoons use their powers to try to scare off the advance of civilization. But will it be enough? Or will the raccoons learn how to live in balance with the modern world?

Der Film gehört zu den absoluten Klassikern der Anime Geschichte! Phantasievoll, witzig und mit einem Schuss Ernsthaftigkeit. Legendär ist die Parade der Tanuki in der auch viele Kunsthistorische Sujets und Figuren wieder auftauchen. Wie gesagt: Fantastisch.

Der Film ist süss, auch die Idee ist cool, jedoch eher etwas für Kinder...
Reicht nicht an Prinzessin Mononoke und Co.

Dies ist einer meiner Liebsten Ghibli Filme!!!! Die Story ist untypisch, denn es geht darum, dass sich Tiere vereinen um gegen den Gemeinsamen Feind "Mensch" zu kämpfen!!! Dies zeigt somit einige Probleme auf, die wir Menschen verursachen und somit ist der Film sogar sehr lehrreich. Dazu ist das ganze sehr fantasievoll umgesetzt und einfach ein Hochgenuss für Jung und Alt!!!!! Vor allem die Verwandlungen und das Training ist einfach genial gemacht...also ich fand den Film absolut genial. Ein kritischer Hintergrund (die zerstörung der Ressourcen), doch wunderbar verpackt in den witzigen Dialogen der Tierchen, den Verwandlungsküsten etc...einfach eine schöne Story mit sehr viel witz!!!!! Ein MUSS für Ghibli-Fans!!
