Rick Kane (Matt Adler) is a teenage surf champion from Arizona who dreams of conquering the legendary waves off Oahu`s North Shore. When he finally makes it to Hawaii, he learns the harsh reality of life on the beach: the waves are tough and the locals even tougher. But with the help from a surfing guru (Gregory Harrison) and the love and support of a local girl (Nia Peeples), Rick conquers his fears, gains the respect of his adversaries, and discovers the real secret to mastering the powerful waves of this island paradise.

North Shore captures the essences of surfing life and the harmony that can exist between a surfer and the massive ocean waves. Also featuring appearances by wave legends Gerry Lopez and Laird Hamilton and World Champion Shaun Tomson, Derek Ho and Mark Occhilupo.

    leider gibts den film nicht in deutscher sprachversion..! ein junge aus kalifornien welcher dort ein erfolgreicher surfer ist zieht über nach hawaii um dort "endlich richtig" surfen zu können. jedoch nehmen ihn die "locals" anfangs gar nicht liebenswürdig auf, im gegenteil. als er sich dann noch die schwester eines hawaiianers schnappt gehts dann erst richtig los... supergeiler surf film, etwas schnulzig aber trotzdem schön!

    Genau heute vor 35 Jahre kahm diese Perle überall in den Kinos raus und genau heute wird diesen Streifen nochmals im Arlington Kino in Santa Barbara gefeiert. Ich hatte das Glück die DVD in deutscher Fassung zu ergattern kurz bevor der Filmriss Filmverleih Shop seine tore schliessen musste. Schaue es mir für den Jubiläuims Anlass nochmals gerade mal auf widescreen an. Top!!
