Two-time Oscar-winner Michael Caine (The Dark Knight Rises, Inception) stars with Clémence Poésy (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows I & II) in this richly nuanced, emotionally-charged story of lost souls, new-found hope and Last Love. Matthew Morgan is a widowed, world-weary professor living alone in Paris. The cynical Matthew sees no meaningful future for himself - until he meets Pauline, a free-spirited young dance instructor. From their first chance meeting, each instinctively provides what the other so desperately needs: someone to call family. Even as they both struggle to heal the wounds of their troubled pasts - including Matthew`s attempts to reconnect with his estranged children - the unlikely bond they form ultimately leads them to rediscover the joy that only family and true friendship can offer.

Es gibt Zeitgenossen, deren Begründung pro Kinder ist diese, dass sie im Alter nicht alleine sind. Die gute Nachricht: Manchmal funktioniert diese Vorstellung. Die schlechte Nachricht: Überwiegend bleibt's ein schöner Traum. Kinder leben ihr eigenes Leben und haben die Erziehung der eigenen Eltern anders wahrgenommen als diese. Somit sind die Erinnerungen und die Erwartungen beiderseits des öfteren nicht einmal annähernd gleich. Fazit: Interessante Geschichte, die jedoch auch etwas melancholisch ist. Also für Lacher a la Kalauer gibt's nicht, aber Schmunzeln schon eher. Die Darstellung ist nichts aussergewöhnliches, aber dennoch sehr gut. Ein Film für ruhigere Minuten und zum Reflektieren der eigenen Erlebnisse. Besser im O-Ton.

Kann den Vorrednern nur zustimmen. Michael Cain ist super in dieser Rolle. Auch ist er Film wunderbar gefilmt, hat aber seine durchhänger.

Habe das DVD gestern bekommen und musste den Film ansehen, ein wunderbarer Film und ein grandioser Caine.
