Zeigt wunderschön die Werte der Tradition wie auch des Fortschritts. Generationenkonflikt, Liebe sowie Judentum werden sehr geschickt und mitfühlend gespielt. Ein Meisterwerk!

Ein sehr schöner und berührender Film, voller Gefühle. Da ist alles drin: Historik, Romanze und der Wert der Familie, das Zusammenleben einer Dorfgemeinschaft und den Zusammenhalt des Glaubens. Stärkend, ermutigend, trotz der Tragik jener Zeit (um 1906)
