From the director of The Devil`s Miner, this acclaimed film charts the incredible journey of Uganda-born world champion boxer, Kassim "The Dream" Ouma. At age six, he was kidnapped by the rebel army and forced to be a child soldier. Luckily Ouma found his ticket to freedom after discovering the army`s boxing team. He defects to the U.S. in 1998, after surviving more than a decade of warfare. Overcoming homelessness and severe culture shock, Ouma gradually rose through the ranks of boxing to become Junior Middleweight Champion of the World. Having achieved the American Dream but still battling childhood demons, Ouma`s greatest wish is to return to Uganda and reunite his family. Filmmaker Kief Davidson skillfully captures this haunted, extraordinarily complex young fighter during this pivotal time in his life - as he seeks a pardon from the government that nearly destroyed his life.
