The US women`s ski jumping team, a tight knit group of 7 athletes, trains and competes for 10 months out of the year. They are an elite group whose members have dedicated their lives to the sport that they love. Yet in spite of their rigorous efforts, they have long been dismissed by international sports institutions and not permitted to compete in the highest honor in amateur athletics: the Olympic Games. Since it has been included as an Olympic event, ski jumping has been the only sport in the Olympics that excluded women. How could this be? Was it a boy`s club mentality intent on holding women back? Or were these women truly not good enough to compete at the same level as men? After years of strategies and international partnerships, a gender discrimination suit was brought on behalf of International Women`s Ski Jumping against the Vancouver Olympics. But it was the passion of Women`s Ski Jumping USA that has forever reshaped the sport.
