In "Blue" (1993), the initial entry of the "Three Colors Trilogy" by Krzysztof Kieslowski, Juliette Binoche portrays a woman who loses her husband and daughter in a car accident and severs all ties to her past. With her new, anonymous persona, she investigates her husband's secret life. Next, a Polish hairdresser's life crumbles when his French wife divorces him because he can't satisfy her sexually, in "White" (1993), the second film in Kieslowski's series. Julie Delpy, Zbigniew Zamachowski star. The final "Three Colors" film, "Red" (1994), focuses on an elderly judge who becomes romantically involved with a beautiful model he's been eavesdropping on over the phone.

Three Colours: Blue, White and Red have been acclaimed as masterpieces by critics and audiences the world over. The films, co-written by Kieslowski and Krzysztof Piesiewicz, with whom he wrote the epic Dekalog cycle, explore the French Revolutionary ideals of freedom, equality and brotherhood and their relevance to the contemporary world. Blue examines liberation through the eyes of a woman (Juliette Binoche) who loses her husband and son in an auto accident, and solemnly starts anew. White is an ironic comedy about a befuddled Polish husband (Zbigniew Zamachowski) who takes an odd path of revenge against his ex-wife (Julie Delpy). A Swiss model (Irène Jacob) strikes up a friendship with a retired judge (Jean-Louis Trintignant) who eavesdrops on his neighbours in Red. The trilogy is a snapshot of European life at a time of reconstruction after the Cold War, reflected through Kieslowsk`s moralist view of human nature and illumined by each title's palate colour.

Hierzu kann man gar nicht viel sagen. Schaut euch die Three Color Trilogy an und seht es selbst. ein absolutes Meisterwerk wie es selten vorkommt. Kieslowski verbindet die drei farben blau, weiss und rot mit emotionen und geschichten die sich am schluss alle in einer gelungenen aufloesung vereinigen. Erstklassige Filme

besser gehts nicht. wer perfekte aufnahmen, mystik, klasse klassische musik mag muss dieses set haben. zum sterben schön!
mein favorit "rouge".

wenn es jetzt englischen oder deutschen untertitel haette wuerde ich den bestellen, aber ich kann kein hollaendisch und mein franzoesisch ist zu schlecht, schade.
