in truffaut's fifth and final film of his semi-autobiographical "antoine doinel" series, we now see doinel (jean-pierre léaud) in his 30's and newly divorced. still ambivalent about relationships, the death of doinel's mother forces him to look into himself and confront his insecurities. in his self-exploration, he rekindles many relationships from his past while trying to forge ahead into the future and perhaps the possibilityof a new lasting relationship. clips and characters from the four previous "doinel" films make this charming and sentimental film a must-see for any truffaut fan.
