Description

How much will one man sacrificeifor his dream of true love?

Reconstruction turns romantic drama inside out, laying bare the emotions in an explosion of images. It follows Alex (Nikolaj Lie Kaas), a photographer, and beautiful Aimée (Marie Bonnevie), who meet by chance and fall in love in the course of one intense day. Their feelings for each other are put to the test as the world around them becomes more and more alien in the labyrinthine Copenhagen. They stake their existence and find themselves in a free fall, with Alex facing the question of how far he is willing to go and how much he is ready to give up for his dreams of true love.

ein absolut fabelhaftes film-puzzle im stile von memento, den lynch-filmen oder fight club. identitätskrise, liebe, traum & wirklichkeit sind so die zentralen bezugspunkte. obwohl der film ja reconstruction heisst, werden die filmischen (erzähl-)konventionen zunächst einmal dekonstruiert. im prinzip ist er das pure gegenteil zu vielen anderen dänischen produktionen, ganz besonders dem dogma-phänomen, und situiert sich eher in der ästhetisch aufwendigen postmoderne. und wie so schön zu beginn des filmes gesagt wird: Alles ist konstruiert. Und trotzdem wirkt es.
