A telling of the biblical tale, where Moses returns to Egypt to free the Hebrews from slavery.

    Dies ist wirklich ein schlechter Film. Nicht zu vergleichen mit "Die Zehn Geboten" von Cecil B. DeMilles. Natürlich kann man nicht erwarten, dass es ähnlich wird, war ja auch ein einmaliger Film 1956. Aber diesem neuen Film fehlt die Würze, die Pointe. Der Mann Moses weiss oftmals gar nicht, was er will. Beim DeMilles Film war die Grundlage DIE HEILIGE SCHRIFT. Hier überhaupt nicht. Es ist irgendwie nicht klar definierbar. Wohin gehört Moses denn nun eigentlich? Das kommt hier nicht zum Ausdruck. Das ist ganz anders bei der späteren Verfilmung "Moses" mit Burt Lancaster. Der war sehr gut.
