Eugene Ormandy dirigiert Tschaikowsky: 12 CDs mit legendären Einspielungen des Phiadelphia Orchestras unter Eugene Ormandy von Werken Peter Tschaikowskys. Darunter sämtliche Sinfonien, Auszüge aus den wichtigsten Ballett-Musiken wie Der Nussknacker oder Schwanensee sowie alle Klavierkonzerte mit Gary Graffman und Tedd Joselson als Solisten.

Eugene Ormandy, der im Jahr 1921 in die USA emigriert war, leitete das Philadelphia Orchestra von 1938 bis 1980 und führte das Orchester zu Weltrang. Seine Leistungen wurden mit fünf Grammys ausgezeichnet und sein Name auf dem Walk of Fame in Hollywood verewigt.
