Alfonsina Storni (1892 - 1938) is an Argentine legend. In "Alfonsina y el mar", the song from the 1960s still sung everywhere even today, inspired Alfonsina as the heroine who, with divine consent, plunged into Atlantic and drowned. The creation of legends surrounding Alfonsina - a dauntless feminist who broke taboos and whose poetry was potentially scandalous - had already begun during her lifetime.
