A quiet drifter (Nicolas Cage) finds himself stranded in a remote town when his car breaks down. Unable to pay for the repairs he needs, he agrees to spend the night cleaning Willy's Wonderland, an abandoned family fun center. But this wonderland has a dark secret that "The Janitor" is about to discover. He soon finds himself trapped inside Willy's and locked in an epic battle with the possessed animatronic mascots that roam the halls. To survive, he must fight his way through each of them.

Ich mag Nic Cage grundsätzlich nach wie vor, auch wenn seine grössten Highlights wie THE ROCK, FACE OFF oder CON AIR schon viele Jahre her sind. Doch hin und wieder überzeugt er dann doch mit einer Perle wie PIG, COLOR OUT OF SPACE oder THE UNBEARABLE WEIGHT OF MASSIVE TALENT. So gesehen kann man WILLYS WONDERLAND durchaus anschauen und der Film ist unterhaltsam, aber er bleibt ziemlich debil, schräg, eigenwillig und speziell. Ich wurde mit der Geschichte, mit den Serienmörder-Maskottchen und dem laschen Ende jedoch nicht wirklich warm und kann ihn daher nicht wirklich weiterempfehlen, selbst wenn es nur ein Low-Budget-Movie ist. Ich würde ihn weder im Handel noch digital käuflich erwerben, sondern erst im Free-TV geniessen. Da ist er sicherlich einen Blickfang wert.
