    Ausserhalb der Grateful Dead kam Bob Weir kaum je auf Touren (löbliche Ausnahme: Ace), bis er mit Ratdog zur grossen Form fand. Kingfish sind lebhaftes Beispiel für gute Ansätze, aber irgendwie totgeborene Songs. Bob verliess die Band sofort wieder, unterliess es aber nicht, zwei der besseren Songs dieses Albums mit zu den Grateful Dead zu nehmen und dort diese zu Meisterwerken zu verarbeiten. Gut, aber eben nicht ganz gelungen.
