Ein interessantes und reales Thema liegt diesem Film zu Grunde. Dabei wurde und wird Sklavenhandel damals wie heute von den gleichen Leuten mit denselben Motiven betrieben. Auch die Argumentation pro Sklavenhandel ist interessant zu verfolgen, da sie sich durchweg auch auf andere Themenbereiche (z.B. Nuklearenergie; Tobinsteuer; etc.) übertragen lässt. Fazit: Darstellerisch ein starkes Werk. Auch die Dramaturgie und die Requisiten sind entsprechend gut. Wer politische Themen oder dialogstarke Produktionen nicht mag, sollte diesen Film eher nicht erwerben.
