Michael Palin sets out across the Philippines, an extraordinary archipelago shaped by natural beauty, deep faith, political turbulence and a complex colonial past. Travelling from the busy streets of Manila to the pristine islands of Palawan, the contested waters of the South China Sea and communities in Mindanao, he encounters a country full of vivid contrasts. Along the way, Michael meets people whose warmth, humour and resilience illuminate modern Filipino life, while confronting the enduring influence of the Marcos era. With his trademark curiosity and humanity, he uncovers the many stories behind one of Asia's most fascinating nations.
